Happy New Year friends!

In my last post here I mentioned that I would share some of the styling I was putting togther for New Year's Eve with my family. So here it is...

Every year our family celebrates NYE at my cousins' house.
This year I was in charge of dessert. So you already know how thrilled I was lol. No seriously I was, I had it all planned out. I said I would bake a cake, some cupcakes and even try to make cake pops. But then here I was the day before, going crazy because I had so many other things to do as well and I wasn't going to be able to get all the baking done.

The morning of, I decided to go to Target and see what treats I could pick up. I usually find these yummy cupcakes and thought if I can get those, jazz them up with sprinkles and a few cupcake toppers it would save me time. Unfortunately most of the treats they had were Valentine's Day treats so pink and red frosting was not going to work for me. I kept looking to see what other options they had and came across some brownie madeleines and let me tell you those things are Ah-mazing!

I kept searching, went through aisles and grabbed a few other treats. After grabbing 20 other things that weren't on my list, I went home and got to baking a carrot cake since it's everyone's favorite, I knew I had to make one. I wanted a naked carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and walnuts sprinkled allover.

I had made all the toppers the night before, so I had time to get together a couple of plates and stands that I wanted to use for the dessert table.

I didn't want to do too much so I went with a bare table and scattered confetti all over it.

How funny are these photoprops

I created small towers with the donuts, oreos, and the brownie madeleines and added a topper to each.

These are easy and simple ideas that you can put together for any occasion in a few minutes with items from your local shopping center.
