A Christmas Tree Story!Sunday, March 24, 2013
Hello Lovelies, Happy Monday!!
This weekend I finally decided to put up the Christmas tree. I really had been giving it lots of thoughts whether to put one up or not. My little munchkin Jax has been tugging and pulling the ornaments at Grandma's house and it had me thinking and visualizing how it would be if I were to put one up. I finally gave in with hopes that he would be excited to have his own and maybe he wouldn't be so wreckless with it.
As I was putting up the tree, the nightmare began. LoL. I would put ornaments on and he would take them off. To be honest I was getting upset and regretting the whole idea, but as I was finishing he looked at me and said, "Wow mommy, it's beautiful!" I thought it was so cute of him. Right there and then it didn't matter that he was rearranging the ornaments, his expression was PRICELESS!
This Christmas tree was the first I bought when I moved into my first apartment, which was about 8 years ago. I've been saying for the past two years that I want a new one, perhaps bigger and maybe in white, or maybe a natural one.
But come to think of it, I think it would be best if I wait til Jax gets over it and actually helps me decorate instead of causing a disaster. Oh and I forgot to mention that Star (my toy poodle) also likes to play under the tree, so you can just imagine the chaos, lol.
Anywho, the tree is up, let's wait and see what happens. Stay tuned for "There once was a Christmas tree and then came Jax"! Hahaha
Here's a look at my fabulous skinny tree
A close up of the ornaments, some of which I made myself. It's lots of fun creating personal ornaments. Some were made with scrapbooking paper and some were painted. I made some with our initials, there's also shoes, stars, and candy canes. All of course to match my decor.
Here's some personalized ones I made for Jax, Star and also one for my niece Jade.
Jax getting caught in the act! LoL
And the Tree Topper. How cool is this striped Black & White Star, it goes perfect with my decor. When I saw this at the store I knew I had to buy it. I'm obsessed with black & white decor.
I also did a few more decorations around the house. Sometimes we're not able to put up a tree but still would like to have some Christmas spirit around the house. Maybe these ideas can help....
I added some sparkly ornaments to the chandelier.
Why not add some snowflakes and a wreath to your curtain rod between your curtains.
And last but not least because I'm sure I'll be adding a few more decorations, but don't worry I'll post them if I do. Here's an arrangement with some sparkly sticks and balls. And how cute is this large glittery feather?
I really enjoy decorating, and most of all creating new and different things. I hope you all like this post and hope its useful in some way. Let me know what you think :)
